i had a good time making a menu for rena and derek. they wanted california asian hors-d'oeuvres passed at their reception, watermelon bubble tea instead of champagne, and a sake bar. the food was another departure for me: from rustic, california country french to fancy, tiny bites with far eastern flavors. i think that what i consider to be "my food" has been affected by them.
